Duel Against Namibia Postponed to September

International Cricket Council (ICC) have postponed next month’s fixtures between Kenya and Namibia here in Nairobi until September. Nairobi Gymkhana was to host the four-day ICC Intercontinental Cup match between the two sides from June 6-9. This was to be followed by two 50-over-a-side Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Championship matches on June 11 and 13. “Due to delays related to the ongoing security assessment in the country, ICC has agreed with the two teams to postpone the matches until September 2012,” said Sami-ul-Hasan ICC, media and communications operations manager. Hassan said the exact dates and venue for the matches will be announced in due course after further assessment of the situation.

Attorney General Githu Muigai is leading Kenya’s delegation to AddisNAIROBI, Kenya, May 15 – African Justice Ministers and Attorney Generals are converged in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to discuss ways of expanding the mandate of the African Court of Justice to deal with crimes against humanity. The meeting that kicked off on Monday is centred on how to empower African courts to cover cases of international magnitude which are currently being handled by the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Kenya’s delegation is led by Attorney General Githu Muigai. A source familiar with the trial preparations told the Sunday Nation from The Hague that trial judges have notified the parties to attend the status conference during which the rules of engagement will be defined including procedural matters and sequence of proceedings. The status conference lays ground for the trial proper whose date would depend on the issues raised and efficiency of the parties
